It Started With a Walk Gone Wrong
Picture this: You're in the park with your dog. They're off-lead, having the time of their life. Then you spot another dog in the distance - this one's on a lead. Your stomach drops.
Is that dog friendly? Nervous? Reactive? You start the awkward dance. Squinting. Waving. Trying to make eye contact. Shouting "IS HE FRIENDLY?" across the park while your dog bounds toward them at full speed.
Sometimes it's fine. Sometimes it's really not fine.
"We thought: what if you could just... know? Before you got close. Before anyone had to shout. Before things could go wrong."
That's the moment Go Rocco was born.
Why "Go Rocco"?
Rocco is a real dog. A beautiful, slightly chaotic mini dachshund who belongs to our co-founders, Bryony and Chez. He's friendly to a fault - the kind of dog who assumes every other dog wants to be his best friend (despite being about a tenth of their size).
But not every dog wants that. Some dogs are nervous. Some are reactive. Some are in training. And Rocco bounding over uninvited wasn't fair to them - or their owners.
We built Go Rocco so owners like us could know before we meet. So Rocco can play with dogs who want to play, and give space to dogs who don't.
What We Believe
Every Dog Deserves Understanding
Nervous dogs aren't bad dogs. Reactive dogs aren't bad dogs. They're dogs who need owners who understand them.
Community Over Competition
Go Rocco only works if we all use it. We're building something together, for everyone's benefit.
Privacy Is Non-Negotiable
Your location is yours. We'll never sell your data. The 50-metre rule exists because privacy matters.
Safety Should Be Free
Features that prevent incidents are free forever. Because safer walks shouldn't cost money.
Made in the UK
Go Rocco is proudly British. Our team is based in the UK, we follow UK data protection laws (hello, ICO!), and we're launching here first because this is home.
We know UK dog culture. The parks. The pub dogs. The coastal walks. The slightly-too-muddy fields. The "yes, he's friendly!" shouting. We get it, because we live it every day.

Go Rocco started with a simple question from two dog owners who wanted safer walks for their mini dachshund, Rocco. What began as an idea in the park has grown into something we're truly proud of.
